Unilateral Z-Transform

definition: We define the Unilateral Z-transform as,

$$\begin{aligned} \tilde{X} (z) = \sum_{\color{red}{n = 0}}^{\infty} x[n]z^{-n} \end{aligned}$$

So the unilateral z-transform only looks at the right hand side of $x[n]$.

e.g.

Consider,

$$\begin{aligned} y[n] - 5y[n-1] + 6y[n-2] = 3x[n-1] + 5x[n-2] \end{aligned}$$

given $x[n] = (0.5)^n u[n]$ what is y[n]?
